Suffolk Herbs Organic Broccoli Purple Sprouting Santee

These broccoli seeds are great because not only are they organic, they produce a beautiful purple type of broccoli. A dual purpose variety for summer, autumn or spring harvesting. Bushy plants produce large, tasty purple spears over a long picking period.

When to Sow Organic Purple Sprouting Broccoli Seeds
April to June.

Outdoors
Sow thinly in a well prepared seed bed, 2cm (1") deep in rows 15cm (6") apart. As the seedlings appear, thin to 7cm (3") apart. When about 10cm (4") tall transplant to the growing site about 45cm (18") apart, planting them 2cm (1") deeper than they were in the seed bed.

Harvest
February to March or June to November (Depending on sowing time)

Handy Tip
Broccoli quickly goes from a purple spear to a flower head. If you have too many to use, cut and freeze for winter use.
