Kings Seeds Radicchio (Chicory) Palla Rossa
Chicory seeds - Palla Rossa is often called "Radicchio" in Britain. This variety has firm hearts with red/maroon and white leaves for colour in salads.
The red colouration deepens as the days shorten and temperatures drop. Immature, mainly green leaves can be used in 'baby salad.'
Chicory is a salad addition similar to lettuce but with a distinct flavour. It is slightly bitter in taste but the blanching of the leaves lessens this bitterness.
When to Sow Palla Rossa 'Radicchio' Seeds
April to August.
Where to Sow
